edu-ID June Newsletter

We are happy to inform you about the following news regarding the Switch edu-ID service:

1. Forum Day on June 18th in Bern
The next community event with the presence of Switch edu-ID will take place on 18 June in Bern. Alongside plenty of news about edu-ID, our main topic will be the substantial expansion of support for OpenID Connect, with demos, announcements, and possibility to approach us with questions.
To register, you will need a personal invitation, which you already should have received by email on 16 April. If you have not received an invitation, please contact events@switch.ch

More information on the event: https://forumday7.events.switch.ch/

2. Blog post on our highly available DB layer

Over the past few months, we have implemented a number of measures to improve the availability of the edu-ID service. As an example of one such measure, this blog post introduces the high-availability setup we use for the database.

3. Test accounts with affiliations
Developers will be pleased with this enhancement! In the edu-ID test federation, it has always been possible to create as many test accounts as desired. Now, test affiliations can also be added to a test account.

For more details about this feature check out https://help.switch.ch/eduid/docs/unis/idm/test-affiliations/

We hope to see many of you in two weeks’ time at the community event in Bern.
